Why Left Ear Right?  Well…the left ear is more attuned to music, emotion and intuition, while the right ear responds to speech and logic.   Left Ear Right’s  music is written to win your left ear’s love while challenging the analytical right ear.

Left Ear Right started his music career as a Hard Core Punk guitarist, where he played with several bands until he broke his arm skateboarding.  During his recovery he completely lost his interest in banging out power chords and found a new passion in Jazz Improv.   Once his arm recovered he parted ways with Punk and threw himself into learning how to contort his guitar to…not sound like a guitar.   It was through Improv that he embraced polyrhythms, syncopation and playing with complements and contrasts.   For him, Jazz Improv was fun to play.  Every gig was a new adventure, but in the end, he understood that Improv was music that is generally only appreciated by other musicians.  After several years in the Improv scene, Left Ear Right started gaining an appreciation for electronic music. As he started listening and learning more he realised that ‘Electronic music is the “shit’’’.   It was a challenging medium that allowed for endless creativity, was fun to make and perform and was accessible and challenging at the same time.

In Left Ear Right’s music you can hear the aggression of Hardcore Punk, and the subtleties of Jazz Improv.   He brings new sensibilities to a new genre of music.  Simply, his music is written to speak to both your left and right ears.  So go on and give it a listen.
